Welcome to Fire and Rescue Training Institute (FRTI)

The Fire and Rescue Training Institute established 1966 as a training unity aimed to provide internal training for Fire and Rescue Staffs’ The Unity centered at Dar Es Salaam International Airport by that time (Julius Nyerere International Airport now) terminal one buildings. The growth of Science and technology in the world force many people to require disasters and risk management skills. Due to this, Fire and Rescue Training Institute decided to expand its provision of training from teaching staff only to the whole public. So in 2019 the Institute registered under National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for NTA Level 4 and in 2022 started to register NTA level 5 and 6.

Mission

The mission of Fire and Rescue Training Institute Institute is to assist in the development of skills and abilities and facilitatte training on safety, fire, rescue and disaster risk reduction issues in support of Fire and Rescue Force at the local, regional and international level

Vission

Tanzania Fire and Rescue Training Institute (TFRTI) aspires to provide the highest quality of services possible to the general public of Tanzania and of foreign through fiscal responsibility, training, fire-fighter safety, fire prevention, accountability and planning; while maintaining a constant eye on the future needs of the people and communities that we serve.

Objectives

Applying knowledge of fire behavior to prevent it

Being employed in both governmental and non-governmental institutions such as companies, airports, hospitals, transport firms and many others

Applying computer, mathematical skills in record keeping, and understand the behavior of fire including the chemistry of fire and the mechanics of firefighting and rescue equipment
